Kenya’s COVID-19 cases near 36,000

Kenya has reported 176 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 35,969, Health Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mutahi Kagwe announced.

Kagwe also said that three more patients had succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll to 619.

He said there were 329 more recoveries raising the total number to 22,771; 43 of the patients were under the home-based care programme and 286 at various health facilities.

The new patients were found after 4,115 samples were analysed in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of samples tested in the country to 494,560.
