The Zambian government on Thursday revealed that there has been a notable improvement in people adhering to COVID-19 preventive guidelines following enhanced collaboration with communities.
According to the Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya, the community leaders have been very helpful in sensitizing members of the public, a situation that has seen an improvement to adherence to the preventive guidelines.
Chilufya says community engagement will remain a key pillar in the response to the impact because of its impact on reaching the grassroots.
He also thanked the cooperating partners who have continued supporting the government to respond to the pandemic through donations of various medical supplies.
Meanwhile, the country recorded 108 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative cases to 12,523.
A total of 1,077 samples were tested from 13 districts in the same period while 68 patients were discharged from isolation facilities, bringing the total recoveries to 11,562
