The CAF Confederation Cup final will be contested between Egyptian club Pyramids F.C. and Moroccan club RS Berkane following their respective victories in the semi-finals.

Pyramids defeated Horoya AC of Guinea 2-0 at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco on Tuesday thanks to second half goals from Ibrahim Hassan and Abdallah El Said.

Pyramids has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the game since its formation just 12 years ago. Six years ago, it gained promotion to the Egyptian Premier League and will now contest in its first African interclubs competition final.

Meanwhile, Berkane edged fellow Moroccan side Hassania Agadir 2-1 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Monday. Captain Mohamed Aziz scored a penalty in each half either side of an equalizer by Agadir’s Imad Kimaoui.

Berkane will have another chance to win the trophy, also for the first time, having lost last year’s final on penalties to another Egyptian side, Zamalek S.C.

The Confederation Cup, which had been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, is being in a mini-tournament format with both semi-finals only taking place over one leg.

The final will be played on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
