Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dragon Boat planned by Confucius Institute of Durban University of Technology in South Africa had to be cancelled.
However, the Confucius Institute’s online Dragon Boat Festival cultural activities were in full swing.
The teachers used the keywords “Zongzi”, “Dragon Boat”, “Mugwort”, “Sachet”, “Colorful Rope”, “Dragon Boat Festival Wishes” to introduce the source and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival to students, and organized students to participate in the cloud Interactions, such as online situational dialogue exercises, Dragon Boat Festival cultural knowledge quiz, Dragon Boat Festival word card writing to send blessings.
Students also spread the knowledge of Dragon Boat Festival to friends and family around them in the form of interviews based on what they have learned, and expressed best wishes for Dragon Boat Festivals.
