Namibia to suspend primary, secondary education for 28 days

Namibian President Hage Geingob on Friday announced the suspension of primary and secondary education from August 1 to 28 except for grade 10 and 12 who are studying for exams.

Geingob said his government took the decision to consolidate the measures that have been put in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic following the spike the number of cases.

The Namibian President also kept the coastal Erongo region under stage level three because of increasing numbers.

“We are taking the decisions to sustain our fight against COVID-19 and also to make sure that we continue to fight the pandemic as well as sustain economy coming from a difficult period,” Geingob said.
