Morocco’s King Mohammed VI pardons more than 1,000 prisoners

Moroccan King Mohammed VI granted pardon to 1,446 people, the official news agency MAP reported on Wednesday.

On the occasion of the Throne Day celebrated on Thursday, marking his 21 years on the throne, Mohammed VI granted pardon to 1,446 people, some in prison and others on bail, the agency said.

Morocco announced that all activities, festivities and ceremonies on the occasion of the throne day will be postponed, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
