Tanzanian giants Simba S.C. continued raking in the silverware as they defeated Namungo 2-0 at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium in Arusha to win the Community Shield.

This was the latest meeting between the two sides with Simba also emerging victorious the last time they met; a 2-1 win in the Azam Sports Federation Cup final.

An eighth minute penalty from club captain John Bocco and a strike from Bernard Morrison on the hour mark ensured victory for Simba.

The win serves as a perfect preparation to defend the domestic treble they won last season.

Tanzania’s Vodacom Premier League is scheduled to kick off on September 6.
