Kenya records highest number of deaths in a single day

Kenya reported that 23 patients had succumbed to the coronavirus, the highest number ever in 24 hours, raising the death toll in the country to 364.

Addressing journalists on Saturday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe also said that 727 people had tested positive for the virus, bringing the case load to 21,363. This is following the testing of 6,371 samples.

The total number of recovered patients increased by 254 to reach 8,491, with 88 of the patients having been discharged from the home-based care programme and the rest from hospitals.

To date, the country has tested a total of 310,330 samples for the coronavirus.
