Kenya records 12 COVID-19 deaths, highest number in 24 hours

Kenya reported 189 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday afternoon, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 10,294, the country’s Ministry of Health announced.

Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, while reporting the latest numbers, said that 12 more people had succumbed to the virus, the highest number of deaths ever reported in a single day, raising the death toll to 197.

The total number of recoveries increased to 2,946 after 65 more patients were discharged from hospital.
