Lewis Hamilton cruised to victory at Spa to win the Belgian GP ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas on Sunday.
The win was Hamilton’s fifth in seven races this season as he continues his hunt for a sixth World Championship title.
“”It wasn’t the easiest of races. I had a lockup into Turn Five and then one into the last corner,” Sky Sports quotes him after the win.
“It was a bit of a struggle. I was nervous we’d have another situation like Silverstone.”
The 35-year-old once again paid tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman by crossing his arm in the ‘Wakanda Salute’, drawn from the Black Panther film, in which Boseman acted.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished third ahead of his former teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
Ricciardo’s teammate at Renault Esteban Ocon crossed the chequered flag in fifth position ahead of the second Red Bull car driven by Alex Albon.
Sunday’s win meant Hamilton now has a 47-point lead over second placed Verstappen, as Mercedes also extended the lead in the chase for the Constructor’s title to 106 points.
