Bayern Munich’s Niklas Süle tests positive for COVID-19

Niklas Süle is set to miss Bayern Munich’s UEFA Champions League game against RB Salzburg after testing positive for COVID-19.

The German Champions confirmed the latest development on Monday, just a day beforethe team faces the Austrian side.

“The 25-year-old Bayern Munich defender is self-isolating at home and is doing well,” said a statement from Bayern Munich.

The current European champions has have won both their open two Champions League games and are the current leaders of Group A with 6 points, three ahead of second placed Atletico Madrid.

Süle was part of Bayern’s team that beat FC Koln 2-1 on Saturday, taking them to the top of the league with 15 points from six games, same as Borussia Dortmund.
