Algerian forward Said Benrahma continued his fine form for English Championship side Brentford who defeated Derby County 3-1 at Pride Park on Saturday to keep up their hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Benrahma struck in the 49th minute, when keeper Ben Hamer allowed a weak effort past him; and in the 64th minute with an excellent right-footed curling shot to earn the visitors a seventh consecutive win.

Ollie Watkins had given Brentford the lead inside three minutes with his 24th goal of the season only for Jason Knight to equalize on the half hour mark.

Benrahma’s goals took his tally to six in just three games and 18 in total for the season while victory took Brentford back up to third in the league, three points behind West Brom and Leeds United.

Brentford next hosts eighth-placed Preston North End at Griffin Park on July 15. Wins in their last three games could see them return to England’s top-tier league for the first time since 1947.
