Algerian president sends condolences to Lebanese president over huge explosions in Beirut

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune sent a message of condolence to his Lebanese counterpart, Michel Aoun, over the huge explosions in the Lebanese capital Beirut, the official APS news agency reported.

“It is with deep sadness and sorrow that I learned the news of the explosions that occurred on Tuesday at the port of Beirut causing deaths, injuries and material damage,” Tebboune said.

“I stand in my personal name and on behalf of of Algeria, people and government, to express to you and through you to the brotherly Lebanese people and to the families of the victims our sincere condolences and all our compassion and solidarity,” he added.

Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan announced that at least 100 people have died and over 4,000 injured after the explosions in the capital. Many people are still missing.
