Rwandese President Paul Kagame is expected to hold bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday as part of his two-day official visit to China.
According to New Times, the meeting will bring closer ties and cooperation between the two countries after 45 years of friendship.
Kagame is in China is a 2-day visit scheduled for March 17-18. He is accompanied by top government officials including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Louise Mushikiwabo, Rwanda’s envoy to China Charles Kayonga among others.
Over 50 companies from Rwanda members of the private sector attended an investment forum on Wednesday with 50 Chinese investors to discuss areas of investment at the Rwanda China Investment Forum in Beijing at the Rwandan Embassy in Beijing.
Development assistance to Rwanda by China is mostly in the form of concessional loans, grant aid, technical support in major projects as well as students’ scholarships in critical sectors such as health, education technology among others.
