China’s Central Military Commission sent a delegation to Egypt at the invitation of the Egyptian Defense Ministry, to hold a Chinese military culture week there.

Several activities, such as military band performances and exhibitions took place at the event in Cairo.

Egypt and China enjoy good relations, with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi having travelled to China twice already last year.

Chinese President Xi Jinping also went on a rarely long visit to Egypt where he toured the temples of Luxor and signed multiple trade and military agreements with the Egyptian side.

Guests watched a Chinese exhibition that reflects the history of the Chinese army, its huge capabilities and it’s friendship with Egypt’s military leaders.

“We look forward to develop the relations and bilateral cooperation between our countries under the patronage of Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Military cooperation between the Chinese and Egyptian armies is one of the most important factors to develop relations and strengthen mutual cooperation,” Major General Mohamed Al Keshky, head of foreign relations in the Egyptian Armed Forces said.

The cultural events included an impressive performance by the military band of China as well as an oriental classical musical performed by the Egyptian military band.

The two military bands also performed together in a show of solidarity and cohesion.
