Tunisian Foreign Minister Noureddine Erray on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to discuss the Libyan crisis.

“They exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues, including the Palestinian cause and the situation in Libya,” the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The Tunisian top diplomat was quoted as saying that it will be vital to combine efforts for a rapid and comprehensive solution to the crisis in Libya via national dialogue and respect for international legitimacy.

Tunisia voiced commitment not to interfere in Libya’s internal affairs, while vowing to find peaceful solutions to end the bloodshed in the neighboring war-torn country in order to preserve the security and stability of Libya and the whole region, the ministry said.
