Trendy bunny drives sales for Belgian chocolatiers

A move by Belgian chocolate-company, Wittamer to put a hip-spin, on the traditional Easter Bunny, this year, has seen record-sales with prices rising, on raw-material supply. Inspired by trendy culture, the company’s unique take, on the Easter Bunny, has the rabbit sporting a large, old-fashioned, pink-moustache. cocoa00011CCTV’S Peter Wakaba, takes a closer look, at what has been driving, chocolate Easter Bunny sales, in the world’s chocolate-capital.
 

The Belgian chocolate phenomenon dates back to the 19th century when shipments of cocoa from Belgian’s African colony, the Congo, began. Production there has died off as the region descended into war and political chaos with the entire industry now getting most of its supply from West Africa and south America
