A suspected Al Shabaab fighter was killed and several wounded after an Improvised Explosive Device they were mounting on the road, exploded on them.

The militants were escaping from the police who had intercepted them.

The incident occurred Saturday at Dabasiti area near the town of Elwak in Kenya.

A manhunt is currently underway for the gang that escaped. Security patrols have since intensified in major cities after authorities warned that terror threats in the country were real following the split of Al Shabaab into two-one group supporting ISIL and the other Al Qaeda.
