Tanzania’s President invites Indian Investors

Visiting Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete reached out to the Indian business community on Thursday and assured them of a sound business environment in the East African nation.

 

Tanzania’s President, Jakaya Kikwete, has pledged to provide continuous support for Indian investors setting up shop in his country. Kikwete made those comments while in India, for a Trade Symposium between the two countries.

He says he plans to structure business relations between the private sectors of the two countries for better coordination. About 400 participants from Tanzania and India are attending the seminar. Agriculture, infrastructure, education, and tourism are some of the topics to be discussed.

Indian exports to Tanzania have grown to nearly $ 2.5 B dollars in 2015, while Tanzania’s exports to India have grown to $ 1.2 B in that same year.
