
Tanzanian opposition MP shot in Dodoma
A Tanzanian opposition Member of Parliament has been shot by unknown assailants in Dodoma.
Tundu Lissu, an outspoken member of the Chadema party, was attacked by the gunmen after a parliamentary session, before being rushed to hospital.
Reports indicate that he was taken to theatre for operation.
The 49-year-old is the attorney general of the Chadema party, and is also the chief whip of the official opposition in parliament.
Various lawmakers have since expressed their shock at the incident on social media;
