Tanzania assures maximum Security for Tourists as it heads into elections
Tourists assured of safety in Tanzania as the Election date approaches this week.
Tanzania’s police force along with other security agencies has guaranteed 100 per cent security for tourists before, during and after the General election according to Arusha Region Commaner Liberatus Sabas. He added that his police unit is efficiently equipped with vehicles and related facilities to ensure security between tourists.
“Apart from having special police team, we’ve police officers in most crucial areas, all these show how we’re serious with the safety and security of our visitors and the general public,” the regional police chief said.
Police have stated that security will be reinforced around the tourism circuit of the country.
It is currently the high season for tourism activities in the East African nation at the same time elections campaign have picked up momentum with the Election Day close.
Tourism is a major foreign earner for Tanzania with the sector contributing at least 2 billion dollars last year, with one million tourists visitors reported last year and a projection of two million for this year.
