Read < 1 minute

Ahmed Mohamed who is a high school freshman at MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, was taken into police custody Monday when his home made digital clock was mistaken for a bomb by the school officials and the police.

Ahmed, 14, had made the clock to impress his teacher who was threatened by it.

His father, Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed who has previously run for President in Sudan feared the incident happened because his son had a Muslim background. His father said that Ahmed had been mistreated  because of his name.

Ahmed’s arrested lead to creation of a twitter account and hashtag . He was later invited to the White House by President Obama, to Google and Facebook.
