South Sudan work permits set to increase from $100 to $10,000

South Sudan authorities have announced the cost of work permits is set to rise, in some cases reportedly increasing from $100 to as much as $10,000.

We spoke to South Sudan’s Information Minister, Michael Makuei Lueth and asked him why the government has decided to implement this measure — especially given the appeal from aid agencies for access to those affected by famine.
