New home affairs minister Malusi Gigaba has promised to crack down on illegal immigrants in line with amendments to the country’s immigration laws. People issued with business visas will need to prove that 60% of their staff are either South Africans or permanent residents while a list of critical skills would soon be published to address the skills shortage in the county.
