South Africa seeking funding for infrastructure development

South Africa is on the hunt for funding to accelerate its infrastructure programme.

The country adopted a bold plan in 2012 to bolster infrastructure, improve service delivery and create jobs, but that vision, the National Development Plan is being hampered by a lack of funding and project delays.

Sumitra Nydoo reports that South Africa spends around $25bn a year on developing and upgrading infrastructure.
