South Africa on Sunday reported an increase of 447 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the country’s total number of cases to 6,783.
“As at today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 6,783, an increase of 447 cases. The total number of tests conducted to date is 245,747 of which 15,061 were done in the last 24 hours,” Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize said in a statement.

The death toll stands at 131 after eight individuals died from COVID-19 while recoveries stand at 2,549, according to the Ministry of Health.
In his latest update on the pandemic, South Africa’s Health Minister said the new deaths were reported in the Western Cape, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
