Somalia’s Thriving Agriculture

Livestock production has been the mainstay of Somalia’s economy. However, over the years, agriculture has developed to a point where local farmers now feed almost the entire population of the country, producing WFP approved grains in large quantities. The UN agency now buys its grains from local farmers providing a market for the hardworking Somali farmers.
