Somalia investing in its army
“..Our soldiers are underpaid, underfed and under-equipped, and yet they are expected to put their lives on the line for their country. This is unacceptable” – Somali Prime Minister, Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmake
For many years the army of Somalia has been poorly equipped and underfunded an issue that the country’s Prime Minister is looking to change.
The government through the Prime Minister has made a point of focusing on restoring the army to its former glory. The once powerful army will be facilitated with proper equipment and training. This investment will go a long way into combating and defeating the Al shabaab militia in the country.
