Somalia expelled the Ethiopian ambassador to the country after declaring the naval base and port deal that Addis Ababa signed with “Somaliland” in January this year a “violation of its sovereignty,” local media reported on Thursday.

Somalia also closed two consulates in Hargeisa and Garowe, Reuters quoted two Somali officials as saying.
