Tanzania’s Sauti za Busara

Known to be one of East Africa’s biggest music festival, the event is held during February each year in the old forts, amphitheaters and historic buildings of Stone Town, Zanzibar.

Sauti za Busara, which means “Sounds of Wisdom” features on average 400 artists. The music festival plays host to a number of fringe events from drumming and dhow races to fashion shows, movie screening and after parties.

Sauti za Busara’s mission is to firmly support the immense diversity of traditional African music styles. The festival draws thousand of visitors both local and international.
