Senegal is scheduled to play two friendlies against Morocco and Mauritania in October, the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF) confirmed.

Senegal will travel to Rabat to play Morocco on October 9 and then host Mauritania in Thiès on October 12.

The announcement adds some hope that international football will finally resume on the continent after suspension since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The FSF said the friendlies will both be played without fans according to existing health protocols.

The matches will serve as preparation for Senegal’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea-Bissau in November.
