Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz will deliver a speech in a special session before Egypt’s House of Representatives today, deputy head of parliament Soliman Wahdan was quoted by Youm7.

The session will be the first of its kind in the history of the Egyptian House of Representatives since it was created over 100 years ago.

The speech will be preceded by a meeting with parliament speaker Ali Abdel Aal along with representatives from Egypt’s political spectra, according to Wahdan.

The monarch will hold a meeting first with parliament speaker Ali Abdel-Al and spokesmen of most of the political forces in the House of Representatives, before giving his address to a plenary session in the attendance of MPs, who will not have access to their phones during the session.

Security has been beefed up around parliament in anticipation of King Salman’s arrival.

He arrived in Cairo on Thursday for a five-day state visit to Egypt, the first since he took over power in January 2015.
