Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah was named Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month for August.

Salah scored three goals and provided two assists in six games across all competitions for Liverpool.

The Egyptian received a trophy at Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground, on Thursday.

“I am happy to win the award, but the most important thing as I’ve said before is winning games. We won all of our games last month in the league, we had good results, so we need to keep focused on our games and keep winning,” Salah told the club’s website.

Liverpool, who finished as runners-up in the Premier League last season and won the Champions league, currently lead the table with 12 points from four games.

Salah also recently was named the winner of Liverpool’s Goal of the Month award for his second strike, a brilliant solo effort, in a 3-1 win against Arsenal at Anfield.

Liverpool plays Newcastle United on Saturday at Anfield following the end of the international break.
