Read < 1 minute

A small, solemn memorial service was held close to a recently discovered shipwreck where over 200 African slaves drowned at the bottom of the sea. The ship, the Sao Jose, was recently discovered as part of an international project that hopes to use slave shipwrecks to shed new light on the transatlantic slave trade and the people involved in it.
