Blessed with thousands of banana plants, a village in Rwanda has found an innovative way of transforming the leaves from the vast plants to create nappies and sanitary pads.

Inspired by a a group of bio-medical, engineering and business students, the villagers are now using a product that is not normally profitable to make an income.
