The construction of the first phase of the Standard Gauge Railway that will connect the port city of Mombasa on Kenya’s east coast with the capital Nairobi is underway.

More than 600 kilometres of new track is being laid. Even before it’s completed, the SGR is making a huge impact on the communities it will connect.
