Qatar’s Foreign Ministry informed Djibouti’s government that it has withdrawn its peacekeeping troops, reports al Arabyia.

Qatar pulled all its troops from the border of Djibouti and Eritrea, where the two East African nations have a long-running dispute over the territory.

Eritrea’s top diplomat to the African Union told The Associated Press: “We don’t want any confrontation with Djibouti. We don’t want to take any of Djibouti’s land.”

The Qatari troops numbered 450 according to an Eritrean opposition official.
