Pyramids F.C. continued their see-saw battle for second place in the Egyptian Premier League with Zamalek after reclaiming the position with a 3-0 win against El-Entag El-Harby at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Tuesday.

The CAF Confederation Cup semifinalists put in a dominant performance and were rewarded with a 2-0 lead at the break. Ibrahim Hassan and John Antwi struck in the fourth and 30th minutes as Pyramids played with determination to avoid any late drama as they did in their previous matches.

Hassan sealed his brace in the 73rd minute as Pyramids made it three wins in four matches since the league’s resumption while El-Harby are without a win after four matches after slumping to a third straight defeat.

Pyramids are second level on points with Zamalek but are above due to a superior goal difference and have played a game more, while El-Harby is ninth on 24 points.

In Tuesday’s other game, Ahmed Ali’s equalizer midway through the first half cancelled out Ibrahim Galai’s opener as Enppi drew 1-1 with Aswan S.C. at the Petrosport Stadium in Cairo. Enppi is sixth with 30 points while Aswan is 12th with 23 points.

On Wednesday, there are three games on the cards: league leaders Al Ahly play El Gouna while Masr and El Gaish face El Masry and Smouha respectively.
