Protests against President’s bid to run for office again in Congo
At least three people have been injured in an opposition protest against President’s Kabila’s bid to run for office again in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The 44-year-old president took power in 2001 when his father was assassinated and won disputed elections in 2006 and 2011.
Some anti-government protesters were forced to seek refuge on the main podium as unidentified men attacked whoever was closest with batons and planks of wood.
