Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta will travel to Singapore later this week to speak at the Singapore Summit, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena-Mararo announced on Tuesday.
“The President, who will be attending the Summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsein Loong of Singapore, will speak about Kenya’s growth trajectory and opportunities for growth in East Africa,” a statement by the spokesperson read in part.
President Kenyatta will deliver his address on Saturday. A plenary session on the challenges and the prospects facing Asia in the next decade will be held thereafter.
The Singapore Summit is a forum that offers a platform for governments, private sector and thought leaders to discuss global trends in business, finance and geopolitics. Other areas of discussion are the impact on regional and global growth, prosperity and stability.
The summit, which started in 2012, is a key platform for shared Asian perspectives on global issues. Additionally, it allows the sharing of ideas on deeper partnerships between the public, private and people sectors are developed and shared.
