Nigeria’s Under-15 national football team, Future Eagles, was denied visas to attend a UEFA competition in Spain, the country’s football federation said.

The denials also affected the team’s officials for the UEFA U16 Development Tournament due to start on Friday.

The Spanish side did not state why they denied the Future Ealges entry into the country. The team was scheduled to leave Nigeria on Tuesday, ahead of their opening match against Belgium on Friday.

Other fixtures against Italy and England were also scheduled with all games being staged at the Pinatar Arena Football Center in San Pedro del Pinatar.

The tournament was established in 2012 and it is especially focused on the development of young players.
