Mozambican President heads to the United States
Mozambique’s President Filipe Nyusi is left for the United States on Monday for an offical visit which last until Thursday, reports Club of Mozambique.
During the working visit the President is expected to attend the 11th US-Africa Biennial Summit and the Corporate Council for Africa (CCA) and U.S. congressmen meeting.
President Nyusi will hold official talks with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and h other members of the US government, as p art of the consolidation and deepening of relations of friendship and cooperation between the African country and the US. It is also an opportunity to develop strategies to strengthen political, economic and business relations.
The deputy head of the US mission, Bryan Hunt, told reporters after the President’s departure that that the Mozambican government hopes to attract American companies to invest in such areas as agriculture, mineral resources, transport and fisheries.
Nyusi is expcted to make a state visit to Cuba after leaving the United States.
