Morocco on Tuesday announced that an aid package of 37 million U.S. dollars has been paid to drought-hit farmers.

According to a report of the ministry of agricultural, the payment was started in mid-April, in an effort to mitigate the impact of a rainfall deficit on farmers.

This year, Morocco has been facing unfavorable climatic conditions, characterized by high temperatures and irregular rainfalls, which decreased by 40 percent compared to the normal season.
