Manchester United roar to fifth consecutive win under Solskjaer

Read < 1 minute

Manchester United’s caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Saturday enjoyed a fifth consecutive win to maintain a perfect start to his coaching role at Old Trafford, beating Reading 2-0 in the third round of the FA Cup.

The win ensured the Red Devils qualified for the fourth round of the competition. A draw will be conducted on Monday, after which United will know their next opponents.

Solskjaer was appointed caretaker boss in December following a string of poor results by United under former coach Jose Mourinho.

In Solskjaer’s time at the helm, United have scored 16 goals – and they will hope to turn five wins into six as they return to Premier League action against Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday, January 13.

Also in Solskjaer’s reign, United have reduced the gap between themselves and fourth placed Arsenal to just three points.
