South African league champions Mamelodi Sundowns completed a domestic treble after winning the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.

Sundowns won the cup after defeating Bloemfontein Celtic 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto courtesy of a strike by Uruguayan midfielder Gaston Sirino.

It was the fifth time that the 10-time league champions had won the tournament.

Sundowns added the Nedbank Cup to the Telkom Knockout Cup and the Absa Premiership, the latter which they won in dramatic fashion on the last day of the season.

Sundowns are the second South African side after Orlando Pirates to secure a domestic treble. Pirates have completed the feat twice before.

Celtic will join Pirates in competing in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, marking their maiden participation in continental competition.
