The Benin Bronzes, considered as one of Africa’s greatest treasures, which were looted in 1897 when British invaded the Kingdom of Benin, which is now in Southern Nigeria.

The craftsmen of Benin who are famous for their artwork are keeping the tradition of bronze casting alive for centuries now.

For them it’s a way of life and one of the ways of keeping their heritage for future generations.

This is the story of one such artist whose family is associated with this ancient artwork for the past 600 years.
