It now appears that the Ebola virus could be spreading in parts of Western Africa. Sixty-two people have been killed by the virus in Guinea and there have been reports of suspected cases in neighbouring Liberia and Sierra Leone. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Ebola is spread by close contact and there is no known cure or vaccine. It kills between 25% and 90% of victims, depending on the strain of the virus.
