Libya sees 782 new COVID-19 cases
Libya on Thursday reported 782 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total tally of the disease in the country towards 60,000.
Libya’s National Center for Disease Control said in a statement it received a total of 3,140 suspected samples, of which 782 were tested positive.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Libya so far is 59,656, including 33,550 recoveries and 831 fatalities, the center confirmed.
Since the first case was reported in March, Libyan authorities have taken a series of precautionary measures against the pandemic, including closing the country’s borders, shutting down schools and mosques, banning public gatherings and imposing a curfew.
