Kenyan Ruth Waiganjo is the winner of this year’s edition of Miss Geek Africa 2017.

Waiganjo trounced her close competitors from Rwanda to win the competition which is designed to encourage girls on the continent to participate in solving Africa’s problems through technology.

This year’s Miss Geek Africa competition brought together eight girls from various African countries to pitch their projects before a high-level panel of judges, business leaders and hundreds of delegates from the information and computer technology sector.

The techie developed a mobile phone application dubbed ‘Safe Drive’ which provides data aimed at solving recurrent problems like road accidents.
