Kenya’s Brigid Kosgei dominated her rivals to win the Abu Dhabi Marathon in a course record of 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 15 seconds on Saturday.

The former world record holder’s performance erased one minute and six seconds from the previous mark set last year by Eunice Chumba.

Ethiopians Hawa Feysa (2:24:03) and Sintayehu Athlemahu (2:25:36) were second and third respectively.

Amare Hailemicael Samson of Eritrea was victorious in the men’s race in 2 hours 7 minutes and 10 seconds as he became the first non-Kenyan man to win since the inaugural event in 2018.

Kenya’s Leonard Barsoton (2:09:37) was second with Ilham Tanui Ozbilen (2:10:16) of Türkiye completing the podium places.
